The Ermenrich Ping SM150 ground cable locator consists of a transmitter, a receiver and other accessories. It is used for inspection and maintenance of cable and electricity networks, water and gas pipelines laid in the ground or in walls and foundations of buildings. The device finds fuses, hidden wires and sockets, as well as control panels that were accidentally plastered over during renovation work.

The detector can locate not only de-energized but also live cables (the maximum voltage is 400 V). When inspecting cable lines, not only can wiring patterns be detected, but cables can also be checked for faults: short circuits and interruptions. The device also has a voltmeter function and can detect DC and AC voltages.

Both the transmitter and the receiver have an integrated, backlit display and easy operation at the touch of a button. Both devices are powered by rechargeable batteries. The automatic shut-off function saves battery power and extends the operating time of the devices.
